Ivano's Italiano, the Italian takeaway at 11 Whitesands, Dumfries DG1 2RR, will deliver with its own drivers to homes up to about four miles by road from the shop when we reopen. That covers most of Dumfries on both sides of the Nith, in DG1 and DG2, and a few places just beyond it. This page explains which areas that includes, how the checkout works out whether we can reach you, and what to do if you're near the edge.

How far we go
About four miles by road is our limit for orders placed online. A small area means shorter drives, and that's the best way we know to get your food to you hot.
How the checkout decides
You don't need to work anything out yourself. When you order at ivanos.uk, the checkout does it for you:
Put in your postcode
The checkout works out the distance from the shop on the Whitesands.
See the charge before you pay
If we can reach you, the delivery charge is shown before you pay anything.
Outside the area?
The checkout tells you, and you can switch to collection instead.
The distance is worked out from your postcode, not your exact front door, so two houses at either end of a long road can get different answers.
Areas we expect to cover
These are our own estimates, worked out from the middle of each area. Your postcode is what counts: the checkout always has the final say.
Comfortably inside (under about 2 miles)
| Area | Example postcode |
|---|---|
| Town centre and the Whitesands | DG1 1, DG1 2 |
| Maxwelltown, Troqueer and Laurieknowe | DG2 7, DG2 9 |
| Larchfield and Marchmount | DG1 2, DG1 1 |
| Stoop and Noblehill | DG1 3 |
| Lincluden | DG2 0 |
| Georgetown | DG1 4 |
| Lochside | DG2 9 |
| Cargenbridge | DG2 8 |
Well within (about 2 to 3 miles)
| Area | Example postcode |
|---|---|
| Gasstown | DG1 3 |
| Kingholm Quay | DG1 4 |
| Islesteps | DG2 8 |
| Newbridge | DG2 0 |
Towards the edge (about 3 to 4 miles)
| Area | Example postcode |
|---|---|
| Heathhall | DG1 3 |
| Terregles | DG2 9 |
| Holywood | DG2 0 |
| Locharbriggs | DG1 1 |
Near the edge?
Locharbriggs is right on the line: much of it should be in, but the far side of the village may be just over. Try your postcode at the checkout, and if it says no, collection is always open to you.
Usually outside the area for online orders
Collin, Kelton, Tinwald, Torthorwald, Amisfield, Lochfoot, Glencaple and Mouswald are all more than about four miles by road. If you live there, collection is the way to get our food for now.
A word about postcodes
A DG1 or DG2 postcode doesn't guarantee we can reach you. Several postcode sectors (DG1 1, DG1 3, DG1 4, DG2 0, DG2 8 and DG2 9) start in town and run well out into the countryside. That's why the checkout looks at your full postcode, not just the first half.
Delivery charges
The delivery charge depends on how far you are from the shop, and you'll always see it at the checkout before you pay.
When we deliver
Once we reopen, we're open Thursday to Sunday, 4pm to 10pm, for delivery and collection.
When you order online, your confirmation email gives an estimated delivery time, and you get a link to follow your order: you'll see when we've confirmed it and when it's being prepared. On busy nights the estimate is longer, and we'd rather tell you that honestly than promise a time we can't keep. Our guide to ordering online walks through every step.
Just outside? Collect it instead
If you're outside our delivery area, or just passing through town, you can order at ivanos.uk and collect from the shop at 11 Whitesands. Your confirmation tells you roughly when it will be ready. Our guide to collecting from 11 Whitesands explains how collection works and how to find us.

Before you order
Have a look at the full menu first. If anyone you're ordering for has a food allergy or intolerance, please check our allergen information and tell us before you order: add it in the notes box at checkout, ring the shop, or tell us at the counter. Everything is cooked in one small, shared kitchen.
If you have a question about whether we can reach you, our phone number and email are on the contact page.
Delivery questions
Do you deliver to Locharbriggs?

Not for online orders. They're all more than about four miles by road from the shop. You're very welcome to order online and collect from 11 Whitesands.
How much is delivery?
