Ivano's Italiano, the Italian takeaway at 11 Whitesands in Dumfries, was on Just Eat, Uber Eats, Deliveroo and Foodhub at one time or another before it closed. Once we reopen, you'll be able to order direct at ivanos.uk, and we plan to be back on the apps after that. This page explains where you'll find us, how ordering direct works, and why it's the way of ordering that helps a small, family-run shop most.

If you've searched for Just Eat Dumfries, Uber Eats Dumfries, Deliveroo Dumfries or Foodhub Dumfries looking for Ivano's, you're not the first.
Right now
We're getting the shop ready to reopen, so we're not taking orders anywhere yet: not on our website, not by phone and not through any app. If an old listing for Ivano's still shows up in an app, please wait until we've announced that we're open before you order.

Why ordering direct helps us most
When you order through Just Eat, Uber Eats or Deliveroo, the app charges the restaurant a commission on the order. Foodhub works differently: it charges the restaurant for its system rather than taking a commission on each order. Either way, part of what you spend goes to running the app.
When you order at ivanos.uk, no app commission comes out of your order. More of what you spend stays with the shop on the Whitesands: with the food, the drivers and the people who make it. For a small takeaway that's open four nights a week, that makes a real difference.
We're not saying the apps are bad. They do a useful job, and we've been on all of them. It's simply that ordering direct is the best way to support the shop if you're able to.
What you get when you order direct
- Card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, taken securely by our payment provider. We never see or store your card number.
- A confirmation email with your order and an estimated time.
- A status page where you can follow your order: you'll see when we've confirmed it and when it's being prepared.
- Your details saved for next time, if you'd like: you can set up an account or continue with Google.
- Our own drivers, from the shop, up to about four miles away.

Why people like the apps
The apps are handy. You might already have an account with your address saved, you can see lots of takeaways in one place, and some apps run their own offers and rewards. If that's how you like to order, that's fine with us: when we're back on them, your food comes from the same kitchen on the Whitesands.
Before you order
Whichever way you order, if anyone you're ordering for has a food allergy or intolerance, please check our allergen information and tell us before you order. Everything is cooked in one small, shared kitchen.
