Who we are
Ivano's Italiano is a takeaway at 11 Whitesands, Dumfries DG1 2RR. It's a trading name of New Age Endeavour Ltd, registered in Scotland, company number SC761264, registered office 18 Bellevue Street, Dumfries DG1 3EJ. We're responsible for your personal information (the "controller"). Contact us about anything on this page at support@ivanos.uk or on 07777 148453.
We are registering with the Information Commissioner's Office (the data protection fee) before we reopen. Our registration number will be shown here as soon as we have it.
What this website is for
This site shows our menu, our allergen information, our opening hours and how to find us. You cannot order, pay or create an account here. There is no basket and no card form on any page. The only thing you can sign up for is our mailing list.
Ordering is on our separate website, ivanos.uk. If you order there, that site's own privacy notice says what happens to your name, address, order and payment. Nothing you type there comes back to this site.
What we collect here
- Visit statistics. We use Clicky (Roxr Software Ltd) to count visits to our websites, ivanos.uk and ivanositaliano.co.uk, and see which pages are popular. It works without cookies and is never used for advertising. It sees the page you visit, the website that sent you, your device and browser, and your rough location, worked out from your IP address, which Clicky shortens so it no longer points to you.
- If you join our mailing list: your email address and, if you give it, your first name. See Our mailing list below.
- If you email us at support@ivanos.uk: your email address and whatever you choose to write, so we can answer you.
- Keeping the site running. Our websites run on Cloudflare. To deliver a page to you and to protect the site from attack, Cloudflare handles your IP address. We don't keep our own log of who visits.
That's all. This site has no contact form, and no advertising or social media trackers.
Our mailing list
If you sign up to hear when we reopen, this is what happens.
- Who runs it: we do, Ivano's Italiano (New Age Endeavour Ltd, above). The list is kept for us by EmailOctopus (Three Hearts Digital Ltd, London), who send our emails on our behalf and only as we instruct. They store the list in the EU, in Ireland.
- What we collect: your email address, your first name if you give it, and when you signed up and confirmed, which is our record that you agreed.
- What we send: an email when Ivano's reopens, and now and then our offers. Nothing else.
- You confirm first: after you sign up, EmailOctopus emails you a link to confirm your address (this is called "double opt-in"). You're only added once you click it. If you don't, we won't email you.
- No tracking in our emails: we send them with EmailOctopus's open and click tracking switched off, so we don't see whether you open them or what you click.
- Unsubscribe any time: every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, or email us at support@ivanos.uk.
The sign-up form sends your details to EmailOctopus through our own website and sets no cookies. The confirm and unsubscribe pages are on EmailOctopus's own website, under their privacy policy.
Cookies
This website sets no cookies at all. The visit statistics are counted without them, the mailing-list sign-up doesn't use any, and nothing here needs to remember you between pages. The one thing saved in your own browser is your choice on visit statistics, if you switch them off: that stays on your device and never reaches us.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To count visits and see which pages are popular, so we can improve them. Basis: our legitimate interests. You can switch it off at any time, for this site and for ivanos.uk, and it stays off if your browser sends "Global Privacy Control" or "Do Not Track".
- To email you when we reopen, and now and then with offers, if you've joined our mailing list and confirmed. Basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing.
- To answer your email. Basis: our legitimate interests in replying to someone who has got in touch, or taking steps at your request before an order.
- To keep the website available and safe. Basis: our legitimate interests.
Who we share it with
- Cloudflare, who host this website.
- Clicky (Roxr Software Ltd), who count visits for us.
- EmailOctopus (Three Hearts Digital Ltd), who keep our mailing list and send its emails, if you join it.
- Our email provider, who hold our mailbox, if you email us.
We don't sell your information, and we don't share it with anybody else unless the law requires it.
Outside the UK: Cloudflare and Clicky may process information in the United States. Those transfers are protected by the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the UK's approved contract clauses. EmailOctopus keeps our mailing list in Ireland, in the EU, which UK law recognises as protecting personal information properly; to deliver the emails it also uses providers in the United States, under the same kinds of safeguards (the UK-US data bridge and the UK's approved contract clauses).
How long we keep it
- Visit statistics are held by Clicky under our plan with them. They are counts of pages, not a record of you, and we can't use them to find out who you are.
- Our mailing list: your details stay on it until you unsubscribe. After that we keep only your email address, marked "do not email", so you're never added again by mistake.
- Emails you send us stay in our mailbox while we deal with your question, and are deleted once we no longer need them.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, to delete it, to limit how we use it or to object to it, and to have it sent to you or someone else. Email support@ivanos.uk; we'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113.
Changes
We'll update this page if anything changes, and change the date at the top.
