Collecting from 11 Whitesands: how takeaway collection works at Ivano's, Dumfries

Ivano's Italiano is an Italian takeaway at 11 Whitesands, Dumfries DG1 2RR, and you can collect your food from our counter instead of having it delivered. Order ahead online at ivanos.uk or by phone, or order at the counter, Thursday to Sunday from 4pm to 10pm once we reopen. Collection has no delivery charge, and it's open to everyone, including people outside our delivery area.

When we're open

Once we reopen, we're open Thursday to Sunday, from 4pm to 10pm, for collection and delivery. We're closed Monday to Wednesday to begin with. If we add more nights later, we'll update our hours here and on our Google listing, so a search for a takeaway in Dumfries that's open now gives the right answer.

Three ways to order for collection

1. Online, at ivanos.uk

   Choose Collection at the checkout and pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Once we've accepted your order, its page and your confirmation email show the time it will be ready to collect.

2. By phone

   Ring us and order for collection. The number is on our contact page.

3. At the counter

   Walk in, order and wait. On a busy night it's quicker to order ahead, so your food is under way before you arrive.

When it will be ready

The time on your order page is our honest estimate. On busy nights it can be longer, and the page gives you the time we expect rather than a hopeful one.

If you arrive a few minutes early, you may have a short wait at the counter. If you're running late, your food will still be there, but it's at its best fresh from the oven or the fryer, so try to come at the time given.

Finding us

We're at 11 Whitesands, Dumfries DG1 2RR: the street that runs along the River Nith in the town centre, beside the bus stop.

• Look for number 11. A postcode covers several addresses, so a satnav set to the postcode alone may stop you a few doors away.
• Our door is on the Whitesands. The back of the building faces Brewery Street, but that isn't a way in for customers.

When you arrive

Come to the counter and give the name on the order, or the order reference from your order page or confirmation email. If you paid online, there's nothing more to pay.

If anything you ordered is missing, tell us at the counter before you go, so we can sort it out there and then.

Outside our delivery area?

We deliver with our own drivers up to about four miles from the shop. That covers most of Dumfries, from Lincluden and Lochside to Georgetown, Heathhall and the edge of Locharbriggs. If you're in Collin, Kelton, Tinwald, Torthorwald, Amisfield, Lochfoot, Glencaple or Mouswald, you're usually outside it for online orders, and collection is the way to get our food.
